Congratulations
and welcome to the 2011 11 year old Gil Hodges World Series Tournament. In
preparation for participation in this year's tournament, you should do the
following:
1) Call Tournament Director, Frank Lo Piccolo, (see
telephone numbers below).
Please
be ready to supply the following information:
A) Team Name
B) Region Represented
C) Name of Association you will represent.
D) Name, Address and Phone Number of Manager.
2) Fax your Certification Roster Sheet to Tournament Director, Frank
LoPiccolo, at (718) 336-6832 or e-mail
it to worldseries@olgaa.com
There will be a tournament meeting for all managers on Thursday, July
28, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at the Our Lady of Grace Church basement, 430 Avenue W and East 4th, Brooklyn, NY 11223 (Use parking lot entrance)
Managers must have
the following paperwork for this meeting:
1) Original copy of Team Roster Certification sheet signed by your State Association
Officer.
2) Copy of Season "League" Team Roster, including Team Rosters of any pickups.
3) AABC insurance policy through AABC Insurance or a waiver from AABC
national office. No
team will be allowed to play without proof of insurance.
4) Original or notarized copy of original birth certificates for all
players. Only Federal, State, County, or City birth certificates will be
accepted. All others, including hospital birth certificates, will not be
accepted.
5) Each team is required to post a $250.00 bond, which will be refunded after the tournament; if your team has satisfactorily completed its participation in the tournament. Participation includes, but is not limited to:
a- Attendance at all tournament functions, including banquet.
b- Non forfeiture of games
c- Satisfactory report from hotel on team behavior, and no damage to hotel property
d- Clearance of any damage to field property
Games will commence on Friday, July 29, 2011. Teams must arrive at least one (1) hour prior to scheduled game times. Official party will consist of eighteen (18) players, one (1) manager, three (3) adult coaches and a business manager. Managers and coaches only will be allowed on the field. No other persons will be allowed on the fields before, during or after games.
ALL
PERSONS IN DUGOUT DURING GAME, INCLUDING MANAGERS AND COACHES, MUST BE IN
BASEBALL ATTIRE (NO SHORTS).
Tournament brackets will be
drawn
and distributed at the meeting.
