Our 7th Annual Family Day Barbecue started off in sweltering heat. Some
cool breezes made things a little more comfortable but when the first wave of
rain came, we all ran for cover. After a little wait, the sun came back out
and the games continued. We ran a Toilet Paper Roll Relay, a Zip and Skip
Contest a Jump Rope Contest and our Adult/Child 3 Legged Race. Once again,
Bassett's did a great job with the catering. The eggplant was delicious. There
were all kinds of gifts and prizes for the kids, including Grace/Gravesend
Seat Cushions and Brooklyn Cyclone Tickets. When the second wave of rain hit,
everyone began folding the tables and chairs and its a good thing they did.
Within the half hour, the lightning flashed and the thunder crashed and the
skies opened up. Unfortunately, we didn't get to our Hula Hoop Contest or our
favorite, Musical Chairs, but with all the rain, it couldn't "water down
" a great time for all.

Hope you all had as much fun as I
did. Thanks and see you at next year's Family Day Barbeque.
