    Joe Ferrugio, Facilities Director and Past President announced that the Board of Directors has approved the installation of over 600 feet of new fencing at the Association’s, Gil Hodges Complex. The work includes, removal of the old fencing along the entire length of Shell Road, starting from the NYC Transit Authority property, to Canal Ave, (Belt Parkway), the 4-foot outfield fence on diamond #1, and the backstops.

      Besides the new fencing, work will include the installation of new gates and backstops. Work on this project will begin in about one week, with completion expected by the end of July.

     Mr. Ferrugio stated that the association is committed to providing the children with the safest and best possible playing facilities. We will continue to consistently update and modernize facilities as funds become available. This project supplements the recently competed installation of new fencing and backstops at the associations other complex, The Our Lady Of Grace Monsignor Sclafani Fields.

      The Our Lady Of Grace, Gravesend Athletic Association, Gil Hodges Little League, provides youth sports programs, for boys and girls, from the ages of 5 to 18 years old. The programs for baseball, and softball, are conducted during the spring and summer, and basketball during the fall and winter. The association has been in continuous operation since 1955.
