Dear Parents, Coaches & Ballplayers,

Welcome to the Grace/Gravesend A.A.  Baseball Season.

Ballplayers are expected to attend all practices and games. Game days begin ½ hour before the scheduled game time, for warm ups. The clock will start at game time with a time limit of 1 hour and 50 minutes. Any ballplayer arriving after the 2 nd inning will not be permitted to play. Full uniform is required for all games, which consists of uniform shirt, pants, belt, hat, socks, athletic supporter and cup, sneakers or rubber cleats. Metal spikes are not permitted.

No food, cans or glass bottles will be permitted in the dugouts. Plastic re-closeable sip bottles are allowed. Parents or spectators are not allowed in the dugouts or on the field, unless the Division Chairman appoints them coach. All coaches are required to wear Grace coaches shirts. If you choose to wear shorts, the Grace shorts are mandatory. Only Grace hats are permitted. You will be asked to leave the field if you are in violation of Grace/Gravesend's uniform requirements.

All games will be played at either the Grace Complex on Gravesend Neck Road or at the Gil Hodges Stadium at the end of Shell Road . Both facilities are equipped with a concession stand and bathrooms. In the event of inclement weather, you are directed to call the field of your scheduled game. A recorded announcement will advise you of the field conditions and the game schedule.

Grace Complex #: {718} 376-0771 . Gil Hodges Stadium #: {718} 372-5249 .

During the course of the season, some children may be moved to other teams in an attempt at parity throughout the division. This does not eliminate your child from receiving a trophy if his/her original team goes on to earn one. A two game elimination tournament will immediately follow the regular season games and an additional trophy will be awarded to the winners (in the competitive divisions - minors, intermediate and majors). Our Annual Blue & Gold Games (competitive divisions only) will take place Saturday, June 21 . The participants of this game are elected by their own teammates. This is a division representative game and not an All-Star game. The ballplayers can elect anyone on their team, including themselves.

The annual Family Day Barbeque is held that same afternoon. (Details to follow)

Picture Day will be Saturday, June 7 (times to be announced). You may purchase pictures if you like, but you are not required to. However, it is mandatory for all ballplayers to be present for the Team Picture. *

The season concludes in late July for the Pee Wee and Mite Divisions and extends to early August for all other Divisions. If a problem occurs, please contact your coach. If the problem is not rectified, the chain of command is as follows:

Coach - Division Chairman - Commissioner - Director of Player Personnel.

Parents are encouraged to attend the coaches meetings, on scheduled Thursday evenings in the Church basement (Veltri Hall) at 8:30p.m. Here you can express your praises and ideas (or complaints) or just keep abreast on what is happening in your Organization.

The success of this organization, depends on you

Intramural Baseball Commissioner

* A one game suspension may be imposed for non-participation.
